The TLMEC is a non-partisan legislative caucus comprised of approximately 60 Texas State Representatives who are members of the Texas Legislature. The TLCMEC's primary mission and purpose is to serve the members and their staffs, particularly in regard to matters of interest associated with missing, exploited, abused, and neglected children of this state with the goal of providing a strong cohesive voice on those matters in the legislative process.Miguel "Mike" Wise, Co-Chairman
The TLCMEC is Co-Chaired by The Honorable Miguel "Mike" Wise, State Representative, District 39, and by The Honorable Toby Goodman, State Representative, District 93.
The Chief of Staff for Representative Wise is Mr. Jesse R. Bernal.
October 30, 2002 marked the First Annual Children's Statewide Conference of the TLCMEC. This one-day conference had expert speakers, participants, and child advocates. Key speakers included Ernie Allen, President/CEO of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and The Honorable Nick Lampson (D-9th-TX), Chairman and Founder of the Congressional Caucus for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington, D.C. Also on the agenda was panel discussions with state and federal law enforcement experts, and with the families of children who have been missing or abducted in Texas.
